The protestors are demanding to stop over 20 hours electricity load shedding in POJK & to reduce sky rocketing electricity prices & to release the protesters who have been arrested.
POJK produces over 2000 MW electricity and total need of POJK is 380 MW and still Pakistan doesn’t give electricity to POJK.
Moreover prices of electricity are higher in POJK (where the electricity is produced) and lower in Pakistan which takes away all electricity from POJK.
There are reports of injuries on both sides. Protesters set Police vehicles on fire and retaliated Police firing & shelling.
At least 5 protesters are injured and have been taken to hospital. People burn their electricity bills in POJK & refuse to pay bills.
