The National Assembly was informed on Thursday that nearly 3,500 Pakistani nationals were deported from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for violating the country’s social media regulations during the Iran-US conflict.
Officials briefed lawmakers that the deportations were related to breaches of UAE laws governing online content and activity on social media platforms.
The government also informed the House that the assets and properties of the deported individuals are being transferred to their legal heirs in line with the applicable legal procedures.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs assured parliament that assistance would be provided to families facing difficulties in matters related to property transfers or other associated issues.
Authorities advised Pakistani citizens residing abroad to strictly follow the laws and regulations of their host countries, particularly those concerning online behaviour, digital content and public communication.
