Turkish Urdu is a news portal. As the name suggests, it operates in the Urdu language from Turkey. Created in May 2019, this news portal has more than five lakh thirty-seven thousand followers on Twitter. It claims to bring news and information about the land of Turkey and the world of Islam.
The first tweet from this account was done on May 01, 2019. There are 10-11 tweets per day from the account. This account has access to more than 2 million users.
According to its timeline graph below, there are three highest peaks. This means that a large number of tweets were made at that time. The first time was on 14 February 2020 as on this day around 65 tweets were posted from the account. The timeline was again seen at its peak on 24 July 2020 and 13 August 2020. At that time, 63 and 54 tweets were made respectively.
Turkey Urdu claims to show news related to Turkey and the Islamic world. However, its timeline is full of news related to India and Pakistan. Especially about Kashmir and the Indian Muslim community. Under the guise of news, there is a devious conspiracy of Turkey Urdu going on to defame India that this DFRAC exclusive is going to disclose below.
Fake and deceptive content:
The fundamental principle of journalism is that the content that reaches the readers should be truthful and unbiased. But, Turkey Urdu provides fake and misleading information to the readers. This information is against India and in favor of Pakistan. It gives impetus to the propaganda of Pakistan against India.
An old video of the Pakistan cricket team’s victory celebration against team India in Srinagar goes viral
Turkey Urdu posted a video of fireworks on September 05, 2022, claiming to celebrate Pakistan’s victory against India during the Asia cup in Srinagar.
Turkey Urdu posted the video with the caption– “Celebrating Pakistan’s victory in Occupied Kashmir In the joy of defeating India in the Asia Cup, Kashmiri boys in various areas including Srinagar came out on the streets and expressed their happiness over Pakistan’s victory. Pakistani flags are also being hoisted during the fireworks display. #INDvsPAK2022 #Kashmir #AsiaCup2022 “- English Translation
Fact Check:
The DFRAC team converted the video into multiple keyframes with the help of the InVID tool. Then, applying a reverse image search on them we found a similar video on Twitter which was posted a year ago on 24 October 2021, by Arab News Pakistan correspondent Naimat Khan. He also wrote, “Celebration in #Srinagar #Kashmir #PAKvIND.”
Apart from this, we also got a tweet from Srinagar Police. Refuting the viral video, the tweet mentioned, “There are many fake/ old videos being shared on Twitter by many handles including verified ones for sensationalism. If you live in Srinagar, you will know how peaceful and the calm post-match atmosphere is today. It is again requested to all not to circulate such fake & old videos.”
Conclusion:
The viral video is deceptive. This video is not of AsiaCup2022 but of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021/22.
- Fake news by linking to the honor of the Prophet
Turkey Urdu claimed in a tweet that In India, police are torturing people for protesting against the insult of the Prophet of Islam.
In its tweet, the portal posted a picture in which a female policeman can be seen taking a girl away. Along with the picture it wrote- “Muslim women protest in India. A female police officer is dragging a female protester away. Protests for Holy Prophet ﷺ are ongoing.
Fact Check:
To check the viral picture, DFRAC first did a reverse search of the picture. As a result , we found this picture on the Facebook page of the Fraternity Movement Kerala . This picutre was posted on June 13 with the caption , ” Police National Secretary of the Fraternity Movement Ayesha Renna N and lathi-charged several other members after blocking the National Highway in Malappuram, Kerala. ,
In addition we also found another Post of some news cuttings in Malayalam language newspapers. Those cutting contained information about the demonstration, it was told that this demonstration took place against the demolition of activist Afreen Fatima’s house in Prayagraj, UP. She was accused of being involved in violent protests.
Conclusion:
Therefore, Turkey Urdu has claimed about the arrest of Ayesha Renna is misleading.
- The child was not admitted to the hospital due to Muslim enmity
Turkiey_Urdu carried a news regarding India in which it was claimed that Muslim children are not being treated in hospitals by Indian Hindus due to Muslim enmity.
In this regard, Turkey Urdu posted a video and wrote “Muslim hostility of Indian extremist Hindus A Muslim child was not admitted to the hospital for treatment saying that he was a Muslim, the child died in his mother’s arms outside the hospital. This is secular India.”
Fact Check :
To investigat Turkey Urdu’s the DFRAC team converted the video into different keyframes with the help of InVID tool and did a reverse search of the keyframes. As a result, we got a screengrab of the video in a Dainik Bhaskar report.
In this report, the reality of the video was found contrary to the claims of Turkey Urdu. It was told in the report that the child was not admitted not because of Muslim enmity but due to non-deposit of fifty thousand rupees. After that the child died due to lack of treatment.
The father of the child Haleem said – ‘The son was having fever for 5 days. He was admitted to Aman Hospital in Mauaima. But , when he did not get relief, the doctors of Aman Hospital referred him . After this we went to Prachi Hospital in Shantipuram with the son. We were harassed there for two hours.

Haleem told that we kept asking people to recruit, but the staff said that first deposit 50 thousand rupees, then we will admit him. My wife and I kept pleading in front of the doctor to admit the son. We will arrange the money but the doctors did not listen and in the end the child died.
Conclusion:
So it is clear that the claim of Turkish Urdu is misleading .
Turkey-India relations never became strong due to the proximity of Pakistan. In Turkey, Rajab Tayyip Erdogan gave priority to Pakistan over India in foreign policy as soon as he came to power. He sided with Pakistan on every front against India.
Angered by the lack of cooperation of Arab countries against India, Pakistan also tried to form a separate organization of Muslim countries through the Kuala Lumpur summit parallel to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) with Qatar and Malaysia under the leadership of Turkey but failed.
Turkey Urdu was also involved in this conspiracy against India. Turkey Urdu gave priority to every news related to these countries. At the same time, the statements of the politicians of Turkey, Qatar and Malaysia were also published prominently against India. These statements can be seen below.

Matahir Muhammad, the former Prime Minister of Malaysia, is always in the news for his anti-India stand. Due to his statements, India had to restrict its relations with Malaysia and restrict the import of palm oil from there . Later, Pakistan had also assured Malaysia to buy palm oil to compensate for the loss caused by India’s boycott . Turkey Urdu has posted these anti-India news with priority.
Use of Turkey-Pakistan relations against India:
After former cricketer Imran Khan took over as Prime Minister, Pakistan bypassed Saudi Arabia and moved closer to Turkey. The main reason for this was that Pakistan did not get along with Saudi Arabia on anti-India issues. Imran Khan not only described Turkey as the elder brother of Pakistan but also claimed that Turkish President Rajab Tayyip Erdogan will win easily if he contests elections anywhere in Pakistan. Turkey Urdu gave priority to anti-India and anti-Turkey-Pakistan relations in Kashmir issue..
Qatar – Pakistan Diplomacy in Afghanistan :
India was a major ally of Afghanistan before Taliban came to power. With the help of Turkey, Qatar and Pakistan, the Taliban once again managed to seize power in Afghanistan. Turkey Urdu published not only anti-India news but also news which are related to Qatar, Turkey and Pakistan on the matter of Afghanistan.
