During a video released on Truth Social, U.S. President Donald J. Trump said that Iran’s security forces must lay down their weapons or face death at the hands of U.S. forces. He also reiterated the administration’s stance that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon.
The United States launched a “major combat operation” in Iran, US President Donald Trump confirmed on Saturday morning.
“Our objective is to defend the American people by eliminating imminent threats from the Iranian regime,” Trump added. “Iran can never have a nuclear weapon.”
Trump also sent a message to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard: “You should lay down your arms. You will be treated fairly with total immunity, or you will face certain death.”
The US President said that the objective was to “destroy their missiles and raze their missile industry to the ground.” “We are going to destroy their missiles, we are going to annihilate their navy,” Trump said.
He also explained that the US has taken every possible step to minimize the risk to US personnel in the region.
Health Ministry tells hospitals to move operations to protected and underground areas
As Israel and Iran launch strikes on Iran, the Health Ministry says it has instructed all of Israel’s hospitals to operate at the highest level of alert and move to protected and underground facilities.
The ministry says that outpatient care and elective procedures are cancelled, and that clinics will perform only urgent procedures such as dialysis.
Additionally, any patients who do not require hospitalization are to be discharged and sent home or to care facilities, and the public is urged to avoid coming to the hospital for non-urgent cases.
