With the 20th Party Congress approaching, Chinese President Xi Jinping has full control of the country through the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) as every 15th Chinese is a member of the CCP and they realize that if they show disloyalty to the president, it will be dealt with strictly.
This argument is supported by the facts, since a significant part of the Chinese people are part of the CCP, and Xi is using these people to control China, which was not the case before, reports Inside Over.
The CCP is an integral part of China’s domestic politics, and this is reflected in the mass of CCP members. As long as the CCP continues to prosper, the country’s internal politics will remain stable. Xi seems to understand this and use it to serve his purpose of staying and leading to historical legacy.
One important aspect to note is that, despite COVID-19, the country has continued to push for higher CPC rates.
Official data shows that the number of CCP members increased by 3.4 million members from the end of 2020 to 96.7 million members in December 2021. This 3.7 percent increase indicates that China has been busy recruiting members despite the country being in a pandemic and tight lockdown. .
Another thing not to be missed is the release of party membership data at unusual times. It is normally published annually, however this year it was done earlier due to the upcoming party convention where President Xi is expected to run for a third term.
Chinese citizens have fully supported the CCP’s policies to combat COVID-19, including quarantine and severe food shortages. This indicated that they were subject to the Xi regime.
The main message is that party membership has increased the most since President Xi came to power in 2012, a testament to his popularity. A note on the matter published in Xinhua states that 119,000 people joined the party before the founding of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) in 1949, and 14.2 million people joined it between 1949 and 1978, according to the information edition of Inside Over.
The note also says that between 1979 and 2011, the year before Xi officially came to power, 60.8 million more people joined them. However, in the short span of time between 2012 and 2021, the CPC has grown by an astounding 21 million members.
At the heart of the current drive to recruit more people to the party is Xi Jinping’s desire to assert the CCP’s dominance and force members to reaffirm their commitment to “Xi Jinping’s Ideas of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.”
President Xi is likely to remain paranoid and focus on getting the whole party to back his bid for another term. This means that all 96.7 million party members must declare their loyalty to him. Disloyalty was strictly suppressed at all levels.
