Shaukat Ali Kashmiri, a human rights activist and chairman of United Kashmir Peoples National Party (UKPNP), has accused Pakistani state agency of torturing a PoK resident and said, Let us protest.Atrocities against PoK residents are common in the region.According to media reports, a number of demonstrators were wounded in PoK’s Poonch district on July 18, when security forces fired indiscriminately at them, and at least 65 locals were arrested so far, and some 30 of them were arrested under terror law.
The locals in Poonch, Paagalali, were protesting on Thursday on the main highway, when Pakistani security forces and local police used indiscriminate force to silence protesters.The people in Pok are denied basic rights and are unable to communicate their views or opinions on a daily basis.
