During the joint press conference, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis congratulated India on the success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission. “Congratulations on conquering the south pole of the moon,” the Greek leader remarked during the press conference with PM Modi.

Prime Minister Modi pledged to boost ties with Greece despite the 40-year gap. “After a long gap of 40 years, an Indian Prime Minister has come to Greece. Still, the depth and warmth of our relations have not decreased. So, the (Greek) PM and I have decided to take India-Greece relations to a strategic level,” he said. “We have decided to increase our cooperation in the areas of defence & security, infrastructure, agriculture, education, new & emerging technology and skill development and strengthen our strategic partnership,” the Prime Minister furthered.
PM Modi calls India-Greek relations historical
During the joint press conference with the Greek premiere, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi noted that the relations between the two nations are “traditional” and “historical”. “India-Greece relations are historical, traditional, we have learned a lot from the ties,” PM Modi said on Friday. “We respect each other Indian PM has come to Greece after 40 years. Despite this, the ties are stronger India-Greece partnership is now moving towards a strategic aspect,” he added.
Our people are coming closer together’: Greek PM
During the joint press address, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis noted how the people of Greece and India are coming closer together. “Our people are coming close together, we have a dynamic Indian community,” he said. “We are becoming closer together, and this will allow a transcontinental approach which will certainly seal an ambitious free trade agreement between India and Greece,'” the Greek leader thanked his Indian counterpart for the success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission.
