Pak pays heavy price for grooming terror; terrorists bleed their own master

A suicide bomber ripping apart a mosque at Peshawar’s Police Lines and leaving around 100 people, mostly policemen, dead created ripples in Pakistan.
The government led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was shaken to core by the attack. Terrorists who were trained by Pakistan to bleed India and other countries have turned their guns and bombs towards their trainer (Pakistan) and are leaving no opportunity to bleed their own master.

The bomb blast inside a police compound in the northwestern city of Peshawar has once again proven that terror has no religion and the terrorists can never be good.   Soon after the suicide bombing in the high security zone, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed the responsibility for the act.

 ‘Good’ Taliban turn bad

The TTP was officially set up in Pakistan in 2007 when different terror groups agreed to support the Afghan Taliban, who were fighting United States and NATO forces in Afghanistan.

The TTP terrorists used to hide in Pakistan’s tribal northwest and also had sanctuary in Afghanistan.

When the Taliban returned to Afghanistan after the fall of Ashraf Ghani government, some thousands of people with weapons were allowed to enter Pakistan as the rulers claimed that they were ‘good Taliban’ and would work according to the law and they would be rehabilitated. Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan had stated that his government wanted to resettle the Taliban in Khyber Pakhtunwala.

In November last year the terror group unilaterally ended a ceasefire with the Pakistan government after the failure of talks, hosted by Afghanistan’s Taliban rulers in Kabul.

The TTP stepped up attacks on Pakistani soldiers and police particularly targeting the police in KP and areas bordering Afghanistan, insurgents in Balochistan have also upped the ante after formalizing a nexus with the TTP.

Pakistan security forces are finding it hard to tackle the terrorists, whom they groomed in their backyard. The terrorists carrying out a suicide attack in the high security police lines is an indication that even the police are helpless and can’t prevent the terrorists from carrying out major strikes.

Present regime led by Shehbaz Sharif is blaming the Imran Khan led dispensation for providing a chance to terrorists to regroup and call the shots. The present government led by Sharif is trying to claim that it shouldn’t be blamed for the terror attacks as it’s carrying the baggage of the past. But the fact is that Shehbaz Sharif hasn’t put in much effort to curb terrorism. He has carried forward the legacy of the former regimes and has been using terrorism as an instrument of state policy.

Terror attacks nothing new in Pak

In March last year when Imran Khan was ruling Pakistan more than 60 people were killed by a suicide bomb at a Shia mosque in Peshawar. The blast had torn through the Kocha Risaldar area of Peshawar city moments before Friday prayers were to start. The responsibility for the attack was owned by the terror outfit Islamic State.
Terrorists attacking mosques, security installations and other places in Pakistan are nothing new. The neighbouring country has been witnessing such attacks for a longtime but the rulers are least bothered about their people falling prey to the violent acts of terrorists. They continue to patronize the terror groups and their leaders by providing them with shelter, arms and ammunition and chalking out rehabilitation plans for them.

Politicians, who have ruled Pakistan till date, have always treated terrorists as a part of the deep state. For them the terrorists have been the tools through whom they could threaten and bleed India and other countries.

PM Modi acted tough
Till 2014, when Narendra Modi took over the reins of India, Pakistani rulers used to believe that India will never retaliate and they could keep on sending in terrorists into Jammu and Kashmir and other parts of the country forever.
After Modi became the Prime Minister, he made it clear to Pakistan that terror and talks can’t go together. PM Modi tried breaking the ice by paying a surprise visit to Islamabad but just within a few days after his effort, terrorists struck at Pathankot air base and reversed the entire process.

In 2016 terrorists carried out a suicide attack at an Army camp in Uri Army in north Kashmir. After the attack the Indian Army for the first time since 1990—when the Pakistan sponsored terrorism broke out in Jammu and Kashmir—crossed the Line of Control (LoC) and carried out surgical strikes at the terror training camps and took on the terrorists within their dens.

After the 2019, Pulwama terror attack, which left 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel dead, Indian Air Force jets crossed the LoC and launched air strikes at terror training camps in Balakot deep within the Pakistan territory.
PM Modi led dispensation by carrying out surgical strikes and Balakot airstrikes gave a clear message to terrorists and rulers in Pakistan that India won’t tolerate terrorism and would not hesitate to cross the LoC and the borders to destroy the terror infrastructure on the other side.

By revoking Article 370, a temporary provision in the Indian Constitution, on August 5, 2019, Prime Minister Modi led regime integrated Jammu and Kashmir completely with the Union of India and launched a decisive war against the terrorism in the Himalayan region. During the past three years terrorism has almost been wiped out from J&K and people are heaving a sigh of relief.
Had the Government of India not acted tough, terrorists sponsored by Pakistan would have wreaked havoc in J&K. The security forces have gone after the terrorists and have broken their backs. They have foiled nefarious designs of terrorists and their bosses sitting across the LoC.
Terror groups enslave Pak
Pakistan, which used to sell ‘Azadi’ narrative to people of J&K, has been enslaved by the terror groups, whom it sponsored and provided shelter to. Pakistan has failed to even allow its own citizens to breathe freely what ‘Azadi’ it would have given to people of J&K?
Denizens of J&K by endorsing the change in the 70-year long status-quo have expressed their gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government and the security forces for pulling Jammu and Kashmir out from the Pakistan sponsored chaos, uncertainty and terrorism.
