Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias had earlier a meeting with the Indian Ambassador Amrit Lugun, whom he informed about the recent developments in the Eastern Mediterranean, as well as in Libya.
It is noted that India, as a member of the UN Security Council, chairs the UNSC’s Libya Sanctions Committee.
The meeting is part of the regular contact and exchange of views with India, followed by frequent contacts between the foreign minister and his Indian counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.
From now on, in the context of the regular updates of the Security Council Members, in addition to the Permanent Members, India will always be updated as well, which is a country of particular importance for Greece and with which we share a common commitment to International Law.
