Emphasizing that the Turkish defense industry, under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has achieved a magnificent success by defying all difficulties in the last 20 years, Cüneyd said, “Both countries have strong defense industries and capacities that allow them to benefit from each other’s experience and expertise.” said.

Ambassador Cüneyd underlined that the two countries have “excellent” bilateral relations.

Noting that his country and Turkey have deepened their partnership through pooling resources, including exploring and exploring long-term joint ventures with research and development, Cüneyd also stressed that the Pakistani and Turkish armies have an “excellent relationship” through regular joint exercises, mutual visits and training.

Cüneyd said that the cooperation between Pakistan and Turkey in the construction of “MİLGEM” class warships has a unique value in terms of capability development of the Pakistan Navy, as well as further strengthening the friendship ties between the two countries.

Regarding the diplomatic and other high-level contacts between the two countries, Cüneyd emphasized that frequent meetings at the level of leaders are “a defining feature of the eternal friendship ties between the two countries”.

SITUATION IN KASHMIR AT INDIA

Regarding the situation in Kashmir, Junayd stated that the Indian government had “illegally and unilaterally” revoked the special status of the region, accusing India of “violating international law, norms and practices”.

Ambassador Junayd said that since 2019, India has “sent additional troops to continue its illegal occupation of the region”.

Stating that India has imposed “unprecedented brutal restrictions” on the fundamental rights and freedoms of Kashmiris, Junayd said, “These actions clearly violate international law, including United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions and the 4th Geneva Convention, in the occupied territory. It aimed to change its controversial status.” said.

Junayd noted that Indian forces continue to “conduct cordon and search operations, violently suppress protests, use nonsensical weapons indiscriminately, imprison Kashmiri political leaders, kidnap children and torture”, noting that India uses an “atmosphere of intimidation and oppression” to silence Kashmiris. .

Junayd accused India of trying to change the demographics of the region “through various illegal acts and administrative measures”, adding that the country “brings in outside settlers to disenfranchise local Kashmiris and make them a minority on its territory”.

Junayd stated that at least 780 Kashmiris have been killed in the region in the last 4 years, accusing India of human rights violations in the region, including arbitrary detentions and extrajudicial executions.

Ambassador Junayd said India has arrested and targeted Kashmiri leaders, human rights defenders and journalists on “made up charges” to suppress the Kashmir resistance movement.

SUPPORT FOR KASHMIR

Emphasizing that Pakistan will continue to stand by the Kashmiris in their “just struggle”, Junayd said, “Pakistan will continue to fulfill its obligations and give its unwavering support to the oppressed Kashmiris.” said.

Noting that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is “one of the biggest supporters of the Kashmiris’ just cause”, Junayd said, “OIC has taken several decisions that openly recognize Kashmiris’ right to self-determination and ask India to stop human rights violations.” said.

Stating that there is support for Kashmiris in the international arena, Junayd said, “Moreover, the parliaments of many countries, including the USA, the UK and the European Parliament, discussed the Jammu Kashmir issue and supported Kashmiris.” used the phrase.

Cüneyd also praised Turkey for its “principle and meaningful support” for the just settlement of the Jammu Kashmir conflict in accordance with UNSC resolutions, and said that Turkey’s principled stance and support is a “source of consolation” for Kashmiris.
